Abstract
[Cognitive Profiles of Young Profoundly Retarted Children by Means of Uzgiris and Hunts Scale VI]
The “Infant Psychological Development Scale” by Uzgiris and Hunt has been adapted for use with profoundly menially retarded children. Scale VI, which is concerned with the development of schemes for relating to objects, was administered to twenty children. The scale proved to be useful to the evaluation of subjects when traditional testing is not applicable. Its application for educational purposes is discussed in reference to the cognitive profiles of these children.
